Follow the instructions that follow:

pointerx Note that there are two types of installations for version 8. These are: New installation and Upgrading from an existing database.

pointerNew installation

  1. Download all installation files (...rar files) to a folder on your hard disk e.g. "C:\LPF Install"
  2. Right click any .rar file and select "Extract to setup ".
  3. A folder will be created and it will contain "setup.exe". Right-click this executable and choose "Run as Administrator" and follow instructions. If the installation is successful, you will get a message that Loan Performer was successfully installed.
  4. After installation run Register.bat as an Administrator from the c:\LPF817 folder in order to register the dll files in the Windows registry.
  5. Attach the database in SQL Server. An empty database can be found in the "C:\LPF817\SQL Server database folder" (the file Data.mdf) and a demo database in "C:\LPF817\SQL Server database\Demodata" (the file Demodata.mdf). If you don't know how to attach a database, have a look at http://104.211.10.181:8080/helpfiles/lpfhlpen/Content/Attaching%20an%20SQL%20database.htm.
  6. Configure ODBC, see: http://104.211.10.181:8080/helpfiles/lpfhlpen/Content/Establishing%20the%20ODBC%20connectivity.htm.
  7. Start LPF.exe from the Loan Performer folder.

pointerUpgrade from an existing database
In a situation where you want to upgrade, please use the following procedure:

  1. Back up your current database! Loan Performer also does this as part of the installation, but you can never be too careful.
  2. Follow steps 1 to 4 of the "New Installation" section above to ensure that there are no corrupt files and that a new installation of LOAN PERFORMER is properly done.
  3. Run Patch817.exe from the C:\LPF817 folder to update the database. In a network environment, you don't need to do this on every workstation.
  4. Delete all temporary files from the Windows temporary folder (normally C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Local\Temp or search %Temp% in the "Search Programs and Files" command window). You may skip any files that are in active use, provided Loan Performer is closed.
  • In case you have a Foxpro 7.10 database and you would like to upgrade to version 8, contact Crystal Clear Software Ltd. We do not recommend you do this on your own.
  • Note that transfers from the internet can sometimes cause corrupted files. Try using download managers since they can be paused or resumed. This is strongly recommended. Otherwise you will get error messages like 'CRC check failed on ...rar', which will mean redownloading the specified file.
  • After upgrading, remember to modify any references/shortcuts on your desktop and program references to point to the new directory. If you don't know how to do this, delete the references and re-create them. If you forget to do this, some staff members may update the wrong database!
  • You should never install an upgrade over an older (Foxpro) database. LOAN PERFORMER won't overwrite your old database, that is not the problem. But sometimes new tables are added for a new version. If you copy them into the old data-directory, the database container is not updated and the new files are not listed as belonging to the LOAN PERFORMER database. This will generate errors.
  • You should never install LOAN PERFORMER in an existing LPF directory unless you are sure that the directory is completely empty.
  • Login into LOAN PERFORMER with "Performer" as user and "LPF" as password. Press F1 for additional Help. The Help file has a "Quick Start" page with the minimum system configuration that you have to do in order to get started.
  • Loan Performer installs certain files in the Windows folders, so you cannot copy a Loan Performer folder from one computer to another and expect it to work.
  • If you are upgrading from a version 6 database, the above procedure does not work. You would have to upgrade to version 7.10 using a file called "Patch710.exe" (1805 KB). You then have to run Patch817.exe from the c:\LPF817 folder to take your database to 8.17. It's a 2-step process. However we recommend you contact us, especially if you have a Foxpro database that also needs to be converted to SQL Server.

dbpointerFor modifications made in this version, see our Updates page.
dbpointerIn case you need Help with installation you can either use the Help file that comes with the installation or use the Online Help and look for TOC (Table of Contents) then "Starting to work with LPF" and "LPF Installation" or click on Search and type "Installation".

Online help is available via this link Online Help. You can also download the LOAN PERFORMER Help file (LPFHlpEn.chm). Save this file to your disk, paste it into the LOAN PERFORMER directory and (double) click on LPFHlpEn.chm from within Explorer to open up the Help file (or press F1 from within LOAN PERFORMER). The Help files are included in the trial version, so if you already have downloaded the setup.exe and the Disk1 to ... files, you don't need to download the LPFHlpEn.Exe file again. The same for the foreign language help files.
Download LOAN PERFORMER Help File(English) (version 8, 23 MB)
The Help file is now also available in FRENCH, SPANISH and RUSSIAN but in these languages it is not yet up to date. You also have to extract the executable file by (double) clicking it in Explorer.
Download LOAN PERFORMER Help File (French) (12 MB)
Download LOAN PERFORMER Help File (Spanish) (14 MB)
Download LOAN PERFORMER Help File (Russian) (5 MB)

The help file that is active in LOAN PERFORMER depends on the user who is logged in. If this user is defined as a French user at Configuration/Users, the French help file will be active and the same applies to other languages. You can also tell Loan Performer to always use the Online Help or the local help. The advantage of the Online Help is that it always stays current.

pointerxFoxpro Demo Database for version 7.10
In order to quickly get started, you can download a pre-configured demo database (demodata.zip) with some sample data. Save this file to your disk and extract the contents with WinZip, then copy all the files to the "C:\LPF710\Data" folder. You may log into this database with the Username: performer and Password: lpf
